Introduction:

• The e-bike industry in SA is experiencing notable growth, with projections indicating a substantial increase in market size over the next years.
• According to Mordor Intelligence, the South African e-bike market was valued at approximately R120 million in 2025, and is expected to reach R196 million by 2029, reflecting a compound annual growth rate of 11,7 %.
• These figures reflect a positive trend in adopting e-bikes in SA, driven by factors such as increasing environmental awareness, need for sustainable transportation solutions, expansion of urban cycling infrastructure, aging population moving from usual cycles to e-bikes, tourism support, students support, more acceptance of e-bikes by general public and cycle races etc.
• The owner of the e-bike business that intends rolling out distributor centres throughout SA, and with eleven years of experience in this field (being a professional cyclist himself), is offering the right to distribute his product without any costs like usual distribution/franchise fees, and other forthcoming fees like monthly fees/marketing fees etc.
• The agreement will be that a distributor obtains a certain area in SA (SA has been divided in 7 feasible areas- the master distributor will then assist a distributor to set up his shop (for a new shop +/- 100 sq m will be sufficient with a set up costs of R150,000), the rental will depend on the centre but can differ from R15,000-R25000 pm.
• OR- the distributor agreement can be done with an existing cycling shop/lifestyle centre/outdoor centre etc.
• All stock/parts/batteries for this shop must be purchased from the master distributor- full info of the master distributor and his history including a proposed distribution agreement is available to interested parties.
